Vilpank Mahadev Temple, Vilpank

Famous as Vilpank Mahadev Mandir, this temple of Parmar period is built in Panchayatan style. The temple is a fusion of Parmar-Chalukya style of architecture. There exists a small temple each on all four corners of the temple. The ground plan consists of garbha-graiha, antaral, sabha mandap and ardhmandap. There is a Shivlinga in the garbha-griha. The doorframe of the garbha-griha is decorated with Saptashakhas. There is an inscription of Chalukya ruler Siddharaj Jaisingh on the right wall of the antaral. The mahamandap of the temple is attractive.

Dedicated to Mahakal Shiva, this temple is built in Bhumij style. Originally ardhmandap, mandap and garbha-griha form three parts of this temple of which ardhmandap is gone and the mandap is still in its original shape. There exists a stone Shivlinga on a huge Jalhari in the garbha-griha. A small five-faced Shivlinga is situated in a room below the garbha-griha. This Panchrathi temple was built around 12 century A.D.
